Philadelphia native Vonetta C. Pierce is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where she holds a B.A. in Spanish. She holds a M.Ed. from Temple University in Foreign Language Education and a M.Ed. in School Counseling from Wilmington University. She has been a high school educator for over twenty years.
Vonetta’s testimony includes a horrifying brush with death at age 18 when she accidentally caught on fire, lost her hair, and underwent several surgeries to restore burnt and damaged skin. In addition, Vonetta considers herself the original ‘drama queen,’ having experienced her share of domestic, financial, judicial, and medical “drama.” As an educator and mentor, she enjoys pouring into the lives of young women by encouraging them to make wise decisions and avoid the pitfalls that she experienced.
